We started our Memorial Day by watching Beth's favorite movie, "Finding Nemo". I can only express my gratitude for her moving on to cute movies like "Finding Nemo" instead of watching Elmo over and over again. There is only so much Elmo a mom can handle! Needless to say we have watched "Nemo" 5 times in the last couple of days...After we had all had our holiday naps we went to Gatti's Pizza for an all-you-can-eat buffet, with a coupon of course, and had lunch/dinner. The food was pretty good. Beth loved the macaroni and cheese. The atmosphere was a little different. We went to a location on the east side of town and therefor ate with half the Latino population in Austin. We may have been the closest thing to the white bread sticks there was.
After walking around a huge sports store, a lot like Garts, and pushing around Beth on the toddler bikes, seeing her try on tiny yellow life preservers, and listening to her high pitched scream when she was ready to go... Lance took us to the park. Thankfully Beth is at the stage where she can climb up to the slides now and we don't have to pick her up and put her at the top. She enjoyed the playground while Lance and I sat and enjoyed the cool breeze, which is a blessing in Texas in May.
We finished off our day by watching the Utah Jazz fall apart, Sloan get ejected, and the team rack up 5 tech's. Lovely way to go, guys! Overall it was a good day and a fun holiday. As is tradition in Lance's family, we made homemade ice-cream, raspberry and blackberry, and it turned out fabulous (thanks Mom Jensen for the recipe and Melissa and Leif for the use of the ice cream maker!)
