Exercise IS for me...right?

Exercise has never been one of my loves. My mom has been a great example to me of exercising everyday but I just can't seem to catch the passion I need to engage in a constant plan. This past week I decided that I would go up to our apartment complex gym and do the treadmill for 30 minutes just to get out of the house for a while. After a couple days I actually found myself looking forward to going. I do have to admit that the treadmills have little t.v's in front of them, where I watched Matlock and Monk. At this point I was just glad I wasn't dreading it. My plan is to continue this week with the treadmill, and maybe branch out and do some toning. It is a nice "out" for me when Lance gets home and gives me some time for myself, which I find I NEED!
So for all of you out there that LOVE exercising, please, is there anything more I could be doing to make it a daily routine?

Okay, I do have something to say about this because when I miss one day of exercise, I get cranky. I do it purely for the mental and emotional aspect. It's a time for me to get away, clear my mind, and feel like I'm accomplishing something. I run about three times a week and do kickboxing(Taebo) the days in between...it's awesome! It totally gives you an all body workout and tones. If you mix it up with running some and that, you will feel better and not get bored! I rent Taebo tapes with Billy Blanks from the library, they are great! Good luck!!! Keep it up...you'll be so proud of yourself!!!

I think we would get along nicely, Brooke! Rach, you know that I also run and do taebo, but the important thing is that you keep it interesting for you. I personally get really bored on a treadmill, I like to run outside. But any way you do it, those released endorphins are good for the body and soul! I also like to stretch, often when we're watching smallville! I swear it not only helps prevent injuries, but also increases your physical fitness capacity and helps you relax.

I love pilates. Expecially if you can get your hands on a tape of Winsor pilates. My legs tend to bulk up when I run, so pilates helpes me have legs that look like a ballorina. Plus there a great way to stretch and strengthen at the same time.

All I can say about this is that I miss dancing like my right arm. (I endorse the pilates, though! Those are awesome for maintaining strength and not getting bulky with either fat or muscle.) But what I really wanted to say was YOU FOUND ZACK MORRIS?!?! Haha, the last time I watched Saved By [That Bless-ed] Bell, it was New Years' Eve 2006-7 and I was alone in my hospital room ... It's good I got my marathon in then because Utah NEVER shows Zack and Kelly anymore. :(

I'm actually on your side when you say you've never been big into exercising. Does teaching 23 kids or chasing around a 1-year-old and mopping 3 times a day count? The sad thing is, I now sit in my recliner and watch people run by my window and I actually find myself being jealous of them! That's a new feeling. So I have no tips or pointers for you, but I want you to figure it all out for me. Because after 12 weeks of bedrest (hopefully), recovering from a c-section(you know all about that) and all that extra baby fat, I'm going to need some serious help. By then you will be in Utah and I think I'm going to enlist you as my personal trainer!

I totally agree with Brooke. I never realized how much I needed exercise in my life until I started doing it! Good luck, it will make you feel better in so many ways!!!

My advice is join the YMCA. Income-based membership, free babysitting for babies 6 weeks on up, and it's motivating when you're paying for a monthly membership!
