Little Joys

I'm sure as mothers we all find little joys in little things in our lives. One little joy I have had lately is finding healthy foods that I love! I mean I have always eaten well, but some of the healthier things have just been tolerated instead of really enjoyed. Now that I live away from home and am in charge of planning menus it is up to me to incorporate these good things into our daily lives. Unfortunately Raspberry Ganache is NOT good to eat for every meal :)
Here are just a few healthy things I have discovered I LOVE lately.

* Whole Wheat Bagels (yes, Mom, they have 8 g. of fiber and 12 g. of protein)
* Black Beans (another fiber superhero!)
* Peas (I don't understand this because I hated peas growing up...now I can't get enough of them)
*Milk (lately I have really wanted milk.. of course it's usually when I know we are about out)
*Fruit Salad (ok- this is no surprise because I have ALWAYS loved it)

What healthy foods do you guys love? I could always use more suggestions.

lately I have loved cranberries! I love to put them in everything! I also love homemade wheat bread, which I only make once a month if that, its alot better then the 99cents cheap loaf at the store (poor brian has to eat it every lunch)

I have to echo your friend Stephanie, kind of. I can't get enough of Craisins nor dried mangoes, both of which are sold at CostCo! (and other places I am sure). Grapes are on my list this year too....and usually they aren't that great in my opinion. I totally hear you with the black beans and peas. When I was pregnant with Tanner peas were number ONE on my list. Now I would have to say asparagus is my one true "green" love!

you have so many new posts since I last looked! fun! who knew that ganache could be such a hit--I didn't really like it! although, I can relate to your recent love of peas--I also hated them growing up, but I have had more peas in the last few months than in my whole life. did I tell you about my recent brussels sprouts excapade? I read in a magazine that they are chalk full (is that how you spell that phrase? what does it even mean?) of all the good stuff that women need. I have a few recipes if you want them. Leif wasn't crazy about them, but he appreciates nutritional value sometimes. :)

We absolutely love your blog. We love that you have recipes on your blog. That will definitely help out once we get a stove/oven! By the way after reading your comment we decided to make a better effort of making this a family blog. So thanks.(the first comment stated that Lincoln was just like Lance in that he only reads the blog and would never post anything... but after he saw that he said that he wanted to make a greater effort in being a part of my [now our] blog. ha ha.
