Yesterday I celebrated my 27th birthday! Because I no longer have the pleasure of claiming to be a "child" my day was pretty routine until my darling Lance got home and brightened my day. Beth, Izzy, and I started off the day with a birthday breakfast of....cereal....and milk (Izzy opted for just milk). Because it was MY day I dressed up my girls in cute outfits and painted fingernails and toenails...once again Izzy opted to watch instead of participate.
We danced to to Micheal Buble (he sure makes a girls day ;) and waited for Dad to get home. Beth would drag me towards the kitchen where a lone present from Grandma was sitting and begged me to open it numerous times. She was happy to tell me "Happy Birthday" over and over again and then once again drag me towards the present. She obviously remembers what birthdays are all about!
Lance got home and treated me to a rice bowl from a nearby Japanese restaurant he had been to with one of his law professors. After lunch we just hung out....and nursed of course.... until 6ish. We dropped off the kids at the Burtons (Thanks Melis!) and headed to The Olive Garden for dinner. It seems like going out to dinner alone without the kids always goes way to fast...before we knew it we were done and wondering what we should do with our freedom for a night. Since it was MY birthday I decided to shop (surprise, surprise). I knew Lance couldn't argue and he would most likely be more willing to let me spend money !! I actually found some cute pants, shorts, and a couple shirts.
After picking up the kids we went home to Raspberry Ganache Pie (another surprise, I know), presents, and after putting both kids down... to an episode of "Psyche"... which is always hilarious!
Thanks to Lance for the gift certificate to Cobalt Blue, a hair salon. He knows it hurts me to pay more than $15 for a haircut... no matter how bad it turns out. This was his way of telling me to splurge and get a good cut! I can't wait to use it!!
Thanks to my mom and dad for my new scriptures!
Thanks to Mom Jensen for my addition of Willow Tree statues and Gospel Library pictures I so desperately wanted.
Thanks to Em for the creative blog entry with blackmail pictures of me growing up.
(See Em's blog to the right)
And thanks for Melis for the yummy candle and Starbursts.
Also thanks to all of you who either called, texted, emailed, or sent a card. I appreciate all your love and thoughtfulness on this day. What great friends I have!

Oh Rach, can you ever forgive me?? I totally spaced your birthday! I am truly a bad friend, but if that is true then how come I miss you so much??? I am so glad you had a good one and got to eat good old butt growing italian food, my fav. that is why my butt is sooo big! And then that yummy pie (I still need to make it) and best of all you got clothes (what else does a girl need?) You have good friends who will watch your kids, I love ya, and I am happy it was a good one.
Oh and btw, you look fabulous, just at hot as ever. Two kids is nothing on you, it just made you and even sexier mama!
Glad you had a nice b-day! I love that you're blowing out your candles while batheing the kids... such is the life now, huh? :)
