90 minute Bread

Disclaimer:

I don't do bread. I've tried numerous times and failed. It's either too hard or too doughy.
My rolls don't have that fabulous homemade flavor one looks for in "homemade rolls"
It's a work in progress.... very little progress.

I was given this recipe from a friend and it actually turned out lovely.
It's been a while since I shared a recipe so here ya go:

90 Minute Bread

2 c. warm water or milk
4 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbps. yeast (or 2 of those little packets)
2 Tbsp. oil
5 c. flour (I used 1/2 whole wheat flour and 1/2 white)

Dissolve sugar and salt in the warm water/milk. Add yeast, stir and let stand for minutes. Mix in oil and start adding flour, mixing as you go.
Mix to a soft, not sticky, dough (I added a little more flour at this stage because mine was a bit to sticky). Knead dough for 5-10 minutes (I did this recipe in my Mix Master so I let it do the kneading for me). Form into 2 loaves (I rolled them out on a lightly floured surface and then rolled them up into loaves). Put in greased bread pans and let rise for 30 minutes (I covered mine with greased seran wrap and actually let them rise for about 45 minutes until I was to anxious to wait any longer). Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes.

Happy Baking !!

I'm excited to give this a try. The only thing I know how to bake is potato rolls and I'm anxious to learn how to make bread. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Oh, and I love the pictures of Izzy in the tub! So funny!
