I've been horrible about blogging lately but here is a post to catch up...
(This is for you Lis :)
This year for Christmas we are staying here in Austin. Because
Lance just started his job full time in November we decided to stay so he wouldn't have to take time off to travel home. Thankfully my family is coming to spend Christmas and New Years with us.
My sister, Em, flew in last Wednesday and will be here for a couple of weeks.
This past week we have done some fun things...

Beth made a gingerbread house at preschool this year.
So fun and so yummy.

And for the first time Beth and Izzy got to visit with Santa and sit on his lap.
Beth told him she wants dress-ups for Christmas... that's all that's on her list.
Lucky him.
My dad is driving to CA to pick up his mom's car (he's buying it) and then driving from CA to Austin. He's scheduled to arrive tomorrow evening. My mom couldn't get away from taking care of grandma until the 24th so she is scheduled to arrive on Christmas Eve.
It's SO nice to not travel during the holidays. I mean to some extent it is exciting "going home" for the holidays. I love the snow during the holidays and I love being close to both mine and Lance's family... even though it is crazy busy. I will miss skiing this year and will miss our Christmas night walk in the freshly fallen snow.
BUT
the fact I don't have to fly with the girls makes me SUPER HAPPY!!
I've noticed while reading others blogs, the ones who have actually posted this month :), that they have posted their holiday decor. and family traditions. That post will have to wait for another time... there are kids to get dressed, Costco to visit, and popcorn crunch to be made.
P.S. To all those who are in the inversion in Utah or in the snow in the East....
The high today in Austin is...
70 degrees!
Merry Christmas!
