Going to the Zoo!!!

Beth was ready and waiting as we made the one hour drive to San Antonio to the Zoo. We were all excited to go to the zoo considering we had tried once and failed due to over crowding during Spring Break. It was a perfect 79 degrees, low humidity, with a slight breeze. It was going to be a great day!

One of Beth's favorite animals was the monkeys... of course.
She got the biggest kick of watching them chase each other all over their cage. She thought it was especially silly when two monkeys fought over an old peanut butter jar. She made her monkey sounds and then promptly threw a tantrum when we left the monkey cage.

Luckily for us Beth enjoys her stroller once again.
This made walking around the zoo for 4 hours doable.

Beth and I were fascinated by the elephants. They were so fun to watch eat their lunch, hay, and play with their metal barrels. Beth loved to watch the elephants trunk move up and down and throw dirt on his back. She pointed and jabbered as we watched them. When we left the elephants she waved and said "bye."

This is Beth's version of a "fish face." Whenever she sees fish she does this face. This was done in the zoo aquarium. She learned this from mom...considering dad can't quite do it yet :)

We had a lovely day overall. It was perfect. Beth was so interested and entertained by the animals, except for the 30 minutes she slept in her stroller, much to the delight of her parents. She was happy to ride on dad's shoulders and see everything from the BIG elephants to the littlest bird or fish. We snacked on popcorn and just enjoyed being together as a family for the whole day. As a special treat to me Lance didn't even talk about law school the whole time!
