Lance's sisters, Adria and Julia, came to visit the Saturday before Spring Break. During their stay we went to San Antonio to ... yep... see the Alamo, tour the Riverwalk, see the temple and finished off by going to Chuy's. It was actually a really nice day, warm and sunny, and we enjoyed just being outside. Beth stayed in Austin with the Grovers (thank a million Susan) and had WAY more fun with her best friends, Rach, Emily, and Sierra than she would have with us.
Beth really enjoyed having some one-on-one attention from her aunts (thanks you guys!) and we appreciated the help. Adria and Julia introduced us to a new game called "Ticket to Ride" which we LOVED...but which Adria killed us in every time. They also introduced us to a new show called "Psych", which we watched every chance we could. It is hilarious... I totally recommend it!
We enjoyed their stay a lot and were glad they were able to come and enjoy the warm weather and new baby.
The day after the girls left we were planning on going to Dallas to look at some housing options. There was a certain house we were really interested in that we planned on seeing on Friday. Thursday morning Lance received an email from the lessor informing us the house was not being leased anymore because of her change in circumstance. We figured Dallas was not worth the 8 hour drive round trip to see one place. I was really disappointed because I love going on little trips and we had planned on going to the Dallas Zoo for Beth. Luckily we were able to drive to Buda (about 10 miles south) and go to lunch and walk around Cabela's, showing Beth the "animals"...or at least what was left of them. The day turned out to be quite nice.
Friday we headed off to Zilker Park to spend the day and ride the train. Of course we didn't count on all of Austin having the same idea. After waiting in line for the train for about 45 minutes Lance and Beth decided to get a snow cone instead and come back to join Izzy and me on the grass for lunch. We had a nice walk and a nice day in the sun. After coming home we went to the pool and spent a few hours splashing around with the Burton's. We finished off the night watching The Rainmaker (Lance's choice... lawyer movie) at the Burton's while Beth slumbered away on "Lissy's bed" and Izzy tried to get into the movie.
We finished off Spring Break at the San Marcos River with the Burton's on Saturday. We took our lunch and Lance and Beth were able to enjoy the water. Unfortunately I was occupied with Izzy and didn't get a chance to get wet. Lance and Leif snorkeled down the river while Melis and I watched the kids. During that time Beth peed all over herself and the stroller (apparently swim diapers CAN NOT hold pee after 3 hours) and then Izzy thought she would pee all over the towel just to be funny. Needless to say I was ready to come home by that time.
After being outside and not napping real well for a few days of non stop action Izzy fell asleep at 10:30 pm (which is a miracle) and stayed asleep until 4:10 am. That in and of itself was a gift to me!

Love the blog updates! Your past few days sound super busy but super fun! Please, keep up updated as to how well boiling the blanket turned out. I am dying to know, plus well, that is definitely some good thinking! Oh, our friends introduced us to Ticket to Ride a few months ago and I LOVE it....although I always end up losing....really bad!
What a fun spring break! The river walk sounds kind of like the memorials here, fast and easy to go see, and a great tourist sight! I am sure that by the time we leave dc we would have visited them probrably a hundred times! Owell, they are still fun to go see!
