Third Times a Charm... or Three Strikes, Your Out!

So yesterday I herniated a disk in my back... AGAIN! This will be the third time this has happened! I mean really.... aren't I too young to have major back problems? The incredibly sad thing about this whole situation isn't that I can't walk or pick up ANYTHING... but that Lance is right in the middle of studying for finals, a 30 page paper, and a week long law project. I joke with him that this is my desperate cry for attention :) He doesn't laugh...
When I heard that my friend was on bed rest I almost envied her. I thought it must be nice to have an excuse once in a while to sit and not to anything....boy was I wrong! So here I sit hour after hour on my couch, reading, directing Lance towards what needs to be done for the girls... and the house, requesting ice packs and pills, and wondering why 2008 has been such a pain in the lower extremities... literally! I think being stuck on the couch is especially hard for someone like me because I sit here and think, "that toy is in the wrong bin", "that glass should be in the dishwasher", "the remote doesn't go there", "are those pillows straight?", etc.
Those of you who know me know that I'm already stressed out about how the house is going to get cleaned tomorrow. Clearly my priorities are outta wack!
Thankfully my mother in law is flying in on Sunday to help me with the girls while Lance tries to catch up from this bust of a weekend. He is already planning on putting in 14 hour days up on campus. I am not looking forward to it, believe me. My mom is planning on coming after Diana leaves to help me... yep... pack to move. Once again, my timing is impeccable.... did I mention we got kicked off our insurance last month? Luckily my mom will be able to help pack and watch the girls while I pack the little, no weight stuff. Needless to say my big plans for being all packed and ready have quickly diminished.
So to all of you out there who can walk, pick up your babies, and shower without help... enjoy your beautiful week.

P.S. Maybe I'm really just sacrificing my body so my girls can see their grandmas :)

I can toatlly sympathize with you Rach!! It's hard to have other people doing your job. Boyd was also studying for a big test during my bed rest. Poor guys, having to deal with us! I'm glad you've got help on the way. I'm gonna call you tomorrow to give you something to take your mind off everything. Hang in there.

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry! I can't believe that I was feeling sorry for myself because my birthday is in the middle of Lincoln's finals. That is nothing compared to this. I feel so bad for you, but what a blessing that your mothers are coming to help!!!

I'm so sorry! I wish I could help! I've had lower back problems before and just went through another bout of pain...luckily I haven't had to deal with this though!
Good luck with everything, we'll be praying for you!
