4th of July

This 4th of July we were left to our own devices for fun. All of our close friends were out of town and had decided they would rather be with "family" than hang around in Austin for the weekend.
After breakfast with dad
(it had been a while considering he is at Bar class everyday except for Sunday)
we packed up and headed to the pool.
The weather was hot
the pool was empty
and
the water was wonderful...

After we got home and ate leftover pizza from BJ's (possibly becoming a 4th of July tradition)
we finished getting ready to host a BBQ for Lance's friend, Josh, and his family.
We had a lovely dinner of BBQ brisket, potato salad, corn on the cob, rolls, grapes, ginger ale, and red velvet cupcakes!!

That evening we went uptown to Lance's firm's office building where we watched fireworks over Town Lake from the 17th floor... air conditioning... cold drinks... cracker jacks... and free parking. It was perfect.

Hope you all had a lovely day as well...
Happy 4th of July!!

Oh man you guys know how to do the holidays. I love the meal you had...it sounds so Texan to me! :) You are real Texans! Yes of course we will be in Cville in August, will you? If so, we must come visit! Let us know when you'll be in the circle! Or whereever, we'd love to see you!

It looks like you had a fun 4th of July. I love the story about Beth and the Tree of Life. That girl cracks me up. And i have a few good salad recipes that you might like this summer. They are some of my favorites. I'll email them to you. Oh, and have I ever thanked you for your bread recipe? I make my own bread all the time now!
